With great pleasure, the Projects Team of the DC Area student tribe of AlMaghrib Institute, known as Qabeelat Nurayn, announces their new project – collecting books for Muslim inmates across the country. The Islamic Information Center at Dar-us-Salaam masjid in College Park, Maryland has been working on responding and sending inmates da’wah materials and books for years, and we would now like to expand their Islamic library to help our brothers and sisters in their path to gain knowledge of the Deen inshaAllah. This Monday 5/19, brighten someone’s day – Help the Hungry, and Share a Treat!
On Monday, May 19th join us at a soup kitchen in Washington, DC and share a treat by baking your favorite cookie or brownie recipe. Please bring at least 75 of any item, so that each person can have one.
To join, please meet in the front office of Al-Huda School on Monday, 5/19 at 3:45pm so we can leave promptly at 4:00pm. This initiative is open to brothers and sisters. We especially need brothers with cars to help with the carpool. If you prefer to meet us in DC, please arrive at DPHW between 4:30-5:00pm.
Even if you can’t come to the soup kitchen, you can still participate by baking a treat. Please contact the Islamic Information Center to arrange a time and place to drop off your item, or bring it to the front office between 3:30-3:50pm on Monday 5/19.

Join on The Third Monday of Every Month, from 3:45pm-7:00pm.

We normally travel together to the soup kitchen, which is located in Washington, DC. If you prefer you can also meet us there. Please arrive between 4:00pm – 5:00pm. The Judiciary Square metro stop (red line) is one block away, and there is limited on-street, metered parking. The address is: First Trinity Lutheran Church, 309 E. Street NW, Washington, DC. For more info about the soup kitchen, see www.dphw.org. Brothers and sisters are both needed & encouraged to volunteer! Students can earn community service hours.
